Hail and thunderstorms produced quarter-size hail in Bexar County overnight
Some San Antonians had an early start to the day hearing rumbles of thunder and hail near their homes as thunderstorm activity began as early as 1:40 a.m. Tuesday.
San Antonio received a measurable amount of rainfall with areas near the AT&T Center receiving over one inch, according to CoCoRaHS.
Reports of quarter-size hail were also spotted in Bexar County on the West Side of San Antonio near SeaWorld and in the city of Boerne, according to the National Weather Service. Larger golf ball-size hail was reported in Comal County just Northeast of New Braunfels and near Canyon Lake.
The Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Bexar County from the National Weather Service around 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday morning as a line of thunderstorms associated with a cold front passed through San Antonio around 2 a.m.

Another chance of thunderstorms is possible for San Antonio on Wednesday night ahead of the next cold front that could bring damaging winds from stronger isolated storms.
